Hi, I'm Ben
A note on reading this page: solid underlines take you somewhere else, and wavy ones, , open more text right here (and some of those , like this).
I'm a strategist, writer, and runner in Cambridge, Massachusetts (: I also take photographs). One question I keep coming back to is how people and organizations thrive during periods of intense change.
By day I'm a Senior AI Strategist at KUNGFU.AI, where I help leaders navigate our ever-changing world with the goal of creating broad-based, beneficial value for people and the planet. With Stephen Straus, I co-wrote Wayfinding: A Business Fable About Leading in the Age of AI (: a CEO has 90 days to deliver a credible AI strategy or lose her job. We wrote it as a story because stories preserve nuance better than frameworks do). You can read an excerpt.
Before KUNGFU.AI, I worked at (at Doblin, Deloitte’s innovation practice, I led work on AI strategy and sustainability, and at Gartner I researched what helps people do their best work), and I studied English and human-centered design at , where I won the Mecklin Prize for creative nonfiction and ran Division I cross country and track.
I also serve on the Cambridge Pedestrian Committee and like to (at KUNGFU.AI, I started CO.LAB, a cross-industry discussion group on the future of AI, and have led 24+ sessions; I’ve also taken part in conversations with Joint Family and with stakeholders in education, largely through Dartmouth).
I run competitively with the Battle Road Track Club (: 4:11 for the mile, 14:30 for 5k, 29:48 for 10k, and 49:31 for 10 miles).
I'm always glad to talk about writing, running, creativity and humanity, ways in which we can design for a better future (particularly those which use AI to benefit society), and any urgent problems or opportunities with societal applicability you think I should be aware of. Email me, or see my resume.
Writing
I write about leading through AI, how it's changing work and for whom, and making things with it. Longer pieces go on Substack and shorter ones on LinkedIn.
- Handwashing changed medicine. AI could too, if hospitals stop treating it like traditional software (Fast Company)
- What Organizations Creating Value With AI Do Differently (Substack)
- Here Be Dragons (Substack)
- Companies are struggling to create measurable value with AI. Sharing the gains with employees could change that. (Substack)
Before Substack, I kept a personal blog from 2019 to 2025. .
- Contradictions of Naples, Florida (2025)
- Perception in the Age of AI: The Reebusacassafram Effect (2024)
- Green Hills, Grey Skies: Reflections on Climate Change Conundrums (2023)
- Running to be Surprised (2023)
- thin places (2022)
- Getting to Empathy: Quaker Meeting, Human-Centered Design, and the Zeigarnik Effect (2021)

The rest are in the full blog archive, and my college columns are in my writing for The Dartmouth.
